Dr. Demitri Balabanov is a CEO & CTO of Apparel Robotics Corporation. He has degrees in Physics and Nanoscience and was a physics researcher at universities in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Demitri has worked for some of the largest global apparel brands developing automation systems and future-oriented technologies for apparel and footwear manufacturing. In 2022, he co-founded Apparel Robotics Corporation in order to automate clothing manufacturing and provide a pathway towards a more sustainable clothing industry.

Alexander Balabanov is the Chief Operating Officer of Apparel Robotics. He finished his undergraduate degree in Industrial & Systems engineering from North Carolina State University and is actively finishing his masters in Analytics at Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to Apparel Robotics, Alexander worked for a mix of Fortune 500 companies and start ups as a technical consultant in AI, operations & manufacturing, spending the latter years in leadership positions. 

Agueo Lopez is the Chief Software Architect of Apparel Robotics. Agueo received his Computer Engineering degree from North Carolina State University and has specialiized in areas such as networking, artificial intelligence, automation and electronics assembly from well respected companies like Bandwidth, NetApp and Cisco.

Nina Ziu is our project engineer. Nina earned her Industrial Engineering degree from Virginia Tech, where she also gained experience doing research and teaching engineering to undergraduate students. Since transitioning from academia, Nina has built a career spanning the aerospace and government sectors, contributing her expertise to notable organizations including the USPTO and United Launch Alliance.
